Noga Mudrik joined the Allen Institute and the University of Washington as a Shanahan Foundation Fellow in July 2026. She received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University, where she worked with Dr. Adam Charles and was supported by the Kavli Neuroscience Discovery Fellowship and the Kavli Foundation. In 2026, she was named to the Forbes Israel 30 Under 30. During her PhD, she developed computational methods for decomposing neural time-series into latent dynamical components, identifying functional neural ensembles across task conditions, and modeling cross-regional interactions across sessions with partially overlapping neural populations. She also interned at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where she worked with the Neurodata Without Borders team on computational modeling of electrophysiology data, and at Genentech Research and Early Development, working on cell-to-cell interactions. Prior to her PhD, she earned dual BSc degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience from Tel Aviv University, summa cum laude. As a Shanahan Fellow, Noga is interested in applying and extending computational approaches to large-scale neural data to uncover the dynamical structure of brain-wide activity across regions, timescales, and behavioral conditions.
