Bio:
Kasia joined the AI Applications in the OCTO team in late 2024, focusing on developing models and tools to advance biological discovery. Her research centers on creating meaningful benchmarks to guide model development and ensure impactful applications.
Kasia’s experience spans academia and industry, with projects at the intersection of computational biology and machine learning. At Microsoft Research, she explored the potential of foundational models in single-cell biology, and at Novo Nordisk, she applied NLP to prioritize drug candidates. At DeepLife, a biotech startup focused on large-scale AI models for drug discovery, she worked on advancing their application in biology. Kasia earned her PhD in Genomic Medicine and Statistics from the University of Oxford, where she studied how chromatin organization influences disease progression in endometrial cancer.
