Bio:

Ernie Coffey serves as the Executive Director of Scientific Operations at the Allen Institute for Immunology. His journey with the institute began in 2017 when he was tasked with formulating a strategic plan for the establishment of a dedicated Immunology science unit within the Allen Institute. Ernie holds the distinction of being the inaugural employee of the Allen Institute for Immunology.

Prior to his role at the Allen Institute, Ernie accumulated significant operational and commercial expertise across various sectors, including pharmaceutical research, biotechnology, academia, and contract research organizations. His extensive background is marked by a proven track record in building new teams and spearheading transformative initiatives.

Ernie is an alumnus of the University of Michigan, where he earned a BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Additionally, he holds an MBA from the University of Washington.
