Bio:
Daniel Birman joined the Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics as a software engineer in 2024 to develop scalable visualization tools. Dan’s tools provide intuitive and interactive interfaces to explore, quality control, and share neuroscience data. Before coming to the Allen Institute, Dan developed interactive 3D visualization tools for large-scale electrophysiology experiments as a postdoctoral researcher in the International Brain Laboratory, through the lab of Dr. Nicholas Steinmetz at University of Washington. Dan received his PhD in cognitive neuroscience from Stanford University, where he studied visual attention in humans with Dr. Justin Gardner and his BA in biology from Cornell University.
