Annika joined the Allen Institute as a Bioinformatics Trainee in 2026, where her work centers on turning large-scale biological data into meaningful insights about the immune system. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Biology from the University of Puget Sound and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Bioinformatics and Genomics at the University of Oregon. Her research background spans epigenomic effects of maternal diet on fetal development (Carbone Lab, Oregon Health and Science University), Bivalve Transmissible Neoplasia (Metzger Lab, Pacific Northwest Research Institute), and Arabidopsis thaliana stress response signaling (Thines Lab, University of Puget Sound).
