Dr. Andrew Stirn is an AI Research Scientist III in the Office of the CTO at the Allen Institute. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Columbia University in the City of New York. Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Dr. Stirn was a Machine Learning Scientist at Variational AI advancing generative models for small molecule drug design and a Senior AI Researcher/Scientist at Synthesize Bio developing transcriptomic foundation models to enable in-silico experimentation. Prior to his PhD, he spent six years designing consumer wearable health and fitness trackers.
