Bio:
Alan Guthrie is a Mechanical Engineer in the Hardware Engineering team of the Manufacturing Process and Engineering group. He is responsible for designing, building, testing, and modifying scientific apparatus and support hardware.
He graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and from the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg with an M.S. in Medical Systems Engineering. He was a research assistant at the UW Nanomanufacturing Lab and the OvGU Computer-Assisted Surgery group. In between, he worked as a design engineer at a Seattle-based printed circuit manufacturer, where he specialized in printed electrodes for the biomedical and life science industries.
