Getting to the Allen Institute

The Allen Institute headquarters is at the northwest corner of Mercer Street and Westlake Avenue in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle.

Our 270,000-square-foot building is purpose-built for life science research and facilitates our trademark team science approach amid abundant natural light and with stunning views of Seattle.

Paid visitor parking at the Allen Institute building is limited and may not be available during some public events. Guests who require accessible parking may access the garage on the Roy Street side of the building (943 Roy St). There is street parking along the surrounding streets and local parking lots can be found on Parkopedia.

Public Transportation

The Allen Institute is conveniently located along the South Lake Union Streetcar and several Seattle bus routes, including the 40, 62, 63, 64, 70, 83, 309, and Rapid Ride C.

To/From the Airport

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac) is located 16 miles south of the Allen Institute. The airport code is SEA. Ground transportation at SeaTac include light-rail train*, Uber, Lyft and Taxis. Uber, Lyft and Taxis pickup can be found on the 3rd floor parking garage at the airport.

*please be advised that the Westlake train station is 1 mile south of Allen Institute. It is comfortable to walk, bus or take the South Lake Union Trolley.
