Alexandra Basford creates, implements and assesses the impact of scientific research programs as part of The Paul G. Allen Frontiers Group. She engages in continuous information gathering with thought leaders, organizational leaders and early career investigators worldwide to help identify directions that offer first in opportunities in areas of bioscience that could generate transformative or paradigm-shifting outcomes. Prior to joining the Frontiers Group in 2019, Alexandra spent a decade in scientific publishing in the U.S. and Asia, working as a journal editor, a publisher and a biomedical indexer. She possesses a bachelor’s degree in Biophysics from Scripps College and doctorate in Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota; broad familiarity with basic, clinical and translational research; and bench experience in physiology, molecular biology and imaging.
