CytoData Symposium 2022 will be held at the Allen Institute, a 270,000-square-foot life sciences building, located at the northwest corner of Mercer St. and Westlake Ave. North in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle. The building is purpose-built for life science research and facilitates our trademark team science approach amid abundant natural light and with stunning views of Seattle.

Getting to Seattle

The Seattle-Tacoma International airport is the closest airport to the Institute, about a 30-minute drive from South Lake Union. From the airport, there are many options for getting to downtown Seattle and the Institute, including Link Light Rail, taxis or Uber/Lyft app-based ride shares, or Shuttle Express. Additionally, for public transportation you can download the OneBusAway app for helpful, real time updates on arrival times. *When planning your departure from Seattle, we recommend saving your spot for TSA security to skip the long lines.

Expenses

Attendees are responsible for travel expenses to and from Seattle. The Allen Institute for Cell Science will provide food and beverages at the event. 

2022 Covid protocols 

  • Vaccines: The Allen Institute strongly recommends that participants be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination including recommended booster doses.  You will receive a link by email to attest to your vaccine status prior to day one of the event. 

  • Masking and social distancing: All participants will be required to wear masks in all meeting rooms. Masks are strongly recommended at all other times. Practice social distancing whenever possible. 

  • In the event of an infection: If a participant develops symptoms, do not come to the Allen Institue building. Participant should remain isolated in their hotel room and contact the event organizers on site for further instructions. Please report a positive test result to !covid-19exposure@alleninstitute.org if you develop symptoms withing 72-hours following this event and subsequently test positive for COVID-19.

  • Space Needle / Chihuly Garden and Glass: The Needle recently underwent a $100M renovation and is worth a look. Dale Chihuly's namesake glass art museum next door is also impressive. Tickets to both can be bundled for a discount.
