Nathalie Gaudreault, Ph.D.

Associate Director, Program Management

Nathalie Gaudreault joined the Allen Institute for Cell Science in August 2016 as a member of the Microscopy and Image Analysis Team. The team is responsible of developing and running the Imaging Pipeline producing the large data set for the Integrated Cell project. Nathalie joined the Allen Institute first in 2015 as the manager of the Imaging Department of the Allen Institute for Brain Science. The Imaging Department had at the time multiple imaging platforms including Intrinsic Signal Imaging, Functional Multi-photon scanning imaging, slide scanning lab and confocal microscopy core. Each platform fed the imaging needs of the Brain Science Pipeline Projects related mainly to visual area mapping, cell type classification and neuronal connectivity.  This is where Nathalie gained most of her experience developing and operating imaging platforms for pipeline projects. She also developed a particular interest for standardization and quality controls for large imaged-base data set production, team science and project with big impact.  

Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Nathalie obtained her Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She also held two post-doctoral positions at UC Davis and UC San Francisco before joining UC Berkeley as an Assistant Researcher.
