
Jianxu Chen, Ph.D.
Scientist
Jianxu Chen joined the Allen Institute for Cell Science in 2017 and currently serves as a Scientist in the Assay Development group.
Jianxu is passionate about developing computer vision algorithms and artificial intelligence systems to solve image analysis problems in biological studies. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, where he conducted researches in biomedical image analysis. His work focused on deep learning algorithms for 2D/3D segmentation in biomedical images and tracking collective motion of cells in 2D/3D time-lapse images. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Science and Technology of China, majoring in applied mathematics, in 2011.
