Society for Neuroscience 2020
Meet scientists from the Allen Institute for Brain Science at this year's Society for Neuroscience conference. Visit us at booth #301, attend our talks and events, register for our Satellite Workshops, and stop by one of our posters.
Exploring brain cell type diversity with the Allen Cell Types Database
The Allen Cell Types Database is a suite of open tools and datasets that provide insights into human and mouse cell types, including standardized transcriptomics, electrophysiology, and morphology data. Allen Institute scientists will review the scientific background and the experimental methodologies for these datasets, and lead an interactive demonstration on how to access new tools and more data to accelerate your research.
Please plan to bring a computer with you to the event.
Please note that this workshop and "Exploring the mouse visual system: the Allen Brain Observatory" will run concurrently.
Saturday, October 24, 8:00-10:30am

Exploring the mouse visual system: the Allen Brain Observatory
The Allen Brain Observatory includes two open datasets exploring visual coding in the awake behaving mouse, measuring physiological responses with 2-photon calcium imaging or with high-density electrophysiological recordings using Neuropixels probes. Allen Institute scientists will review the resource’s scientific background and methods, and lead an interactive demonstration on how to access, visualize, and analyze the data. For more information and to register, visit alleninstitute.org/sfn20.
Please plan to bring a computer with you to the event. Some Python experience is recommended.
