Announcing the Allen Institute Brain Data Intensive workshop, a two-day residential workshop hosted at the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle.
This workshop invites graduate students, post docs, researchers and clinicians throughout the Pacific Northwest to learn the ins and outs of using the Allen Institute data and analytical tools freely available on brain-map.org. The format will include interactive instruction, panels, break-out sessions and problem-based learning. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for the duration of the workshop.
Topics to be covered include:
- Gene expression (ISH, Microarray, RNA-Seq in mouse, human and non-human primate)
- Mouse connectivity
- Single cell analysis of cortical phenotype (electrophysiology, morphology and single-cell RNASeq)
- Additional analysis of recent human disease material may be offered based on interest (Glioblastoma and Aging, Dementia and TBI)
Space is limited.
Applications are due April 22, 2016. Attendees will be notified of their acceptance by April 29, 2016. A limited number of travel scholarships ($250) are available to applicants traveling from outside Seattle, WA.
