2014 Atlas Training Workshop Series

July 2014 - December 2014

  • Multiple Locations

An in-depth look at the Science and Public Resources of the Allen Institute for Brain Science

We conduct in-person training sessions in locations throughout the world. There is no cost to attend. If you are interested in helping to organize a session at your institution, please contact us

At the two-part session, attendees will learn more about the resources we have made publicly available for all scientists. We’ll demonstrate the knowledge that can be gleaned from this valuable resource, sharing the most recent updates. We’ll share case studies of scientists who have applied this data to enhance their research and discoveries.

Part One: Advancing Neuroscience with the Allen Brain Atlas

In this session, our Application Scientist, Terri Gilbert, Ph.D., will give an extensive overview of the public resources currently available via the Allen Brain Atlas data portal.

Part Two: Allen Brain Atlas Hands-On Training Workshop

Attendees will be trained in basic navigation and search features of the data sets and have the opportunity to ask detailed navigational questions. Sessions will cover Mouse Gene Expression; Mouse Connectivity; and Human Gene Expression.
