Workshop information

Thank you for joining us at NeuroDataReHack on October 3-5, 2022. All workshop information for attendees will be posted on this page as it becomes available. Please see below for important information on travel to the workshop, required pre-reading, required virtual data showcase, and the workshop schedule.

Travel to the workshop

Plan to arrive at the Allen Institute between 8:30-9:00am on Monday, October 3, and depart the Allen Institute at 5pm on Wednesday, October 5.

Travel to and from SeaTac airport:

  • Transit: Follow signs in the airport to the light rail. Ride to University Street station (not University of Washington or University District - the station between Pioneer Square and Westlake) and transfer to the Rapid Ride C line bus. The ride takes about an hour and costs $3.

  • Uber, Lyft, and other rideshare: Follow signs in the airport to the rideshare and taxi zone in the parking garage. The drive to or from the Allen Institute takes about 25 minutes during off-peak times and up to 50 minutes during rush hour. The fare is typically $40-50.

  • Taxi: Follow signs in the airport to the rideshare and taxi zone in the parking garage. The drive to or from the Allen Institute takes about 25 minutes during off-peak times and up to 50 minutes during rush hour. The fare is typically $40-50.

If you have requested travel support, please follow instructions from Olga Vieira at MIT on how to book your travel. We can offer $1000 in travel support which may be used for hotel and/or airfare. Travel booked independently will not be reimbursed. If you are booking your own hotel room (e.g. because you have used your travel funds on flights), you may this link to book a room at a local hotel within walking distance of the Allen Institute at a negotiated discount rate. This discount applies from Sunday night through Wednesday night.

We cannot host you at the Allen Institute after 5pm on Wednesday, but we can provide recommendations of locations around the neighborhood to spend time before an evening flight if you have already checked out.

We will provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks on both days of the workshop for all participants.

Virtual satellite event: NWB and DANDI Virtual Data Showcase

NeuroDataReHack attendees are also required attend virtual Open Neuroata Showcase on Wednesday, September 28, where data publishers will present their dandisets to anyone interested in reusing the data. We will also have introductory talks about NWB, DANDI, and OpenScope.
