Saurabh Gandhi, Ph.D.
Saurabh is part of the Modeling, Analysis, and Theory group. He aims to develop methods by which optical and electrophysiology data can be used to predict the ‘meaningfulness’ of a visual stimulus to an animal. Saurabh hopes to eventually use these techniques to assess the level of consciousness under waking, sleeping and anesthetized states. Previously, he obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the guidance of Prof. Jeff Gore. Saurabh’s thesis work was in the field of experimental biophysics, where he studied the ecological and evolutionary dynamics during the spatial spread of organisms.
