Melissa Gorham

Research Associate II

​Melissa joined the Allen Institute for Brain Science in 2016. As a Research Associate on the Imaging team, Melissa leads data collection efforts and assists in the standardization and implementation of imaging protocols for the mFISH Light Sheet pipeline, in which light sheet fluorescence microscopy is used to image spatial transcriptomics on large volume mouse and human tissue samples. 

​Melissa received her B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Western Washington University, where she worked as an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Janet Finlay’s lab investigating the effects of glutamate-type NMDA receptor dysfunction in the mouse anterior cingulate.
