Linzy Casal

Project and Alliance Manager

Linzy serves as a Project and Alliance Manager in the BrainTV program. She currently supports the Brain Observatory, OpenScope and Change Detection and Circuit Mechanism projects which seek to explore how the brain processes distinct features of the visual world by recording the activity of different cortical areas and their composite cells in individual animals as they perform visual tasks.

Linzy joined the Institute in 2015 as a researcher on the Neurosurgery and Behavior team and was responsible for managing behavior training for high throughput pipelines and other institute projects.  In addition, Linzy preformed murine neurosurgery and behavior training assays. Prior to joining the Allen Institute, she worked for the Mouse Behavioral Phenotyping Core at the Scripps Research Institute. There, she gained extensive knowledge of large scale phenotyping based on the “what’s wrong with my mouse” model.  

Linzy received a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Washington  and Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology from San Francisco State University.
