Research Associate II
Katherine Baker joined the Allen Institute in 2018 as a Research Associate for the Electrophysiology Department. She performs in vitro patch clamp experiments to help characterize cell types for the mouse and human brain.
Katherine received a double major B.S. in Biochemistry and Biophysics with a minor in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington in 2017. As an undergraduate, as well as year following graduation, Katherine researched nanopore DNA sequencing and single-molecule enzyme kinetics as a laboratory technician for the UW Nanopore Lab. As a laboratory technician, she designed, manufactured, installed, and maintained hardware for all the data collection stations in the lab.
