Jane Timberlake

Research Associate

Jane is a Research Associate I in the Genotyping and Probes group of the Molecular Biology department within Structured Science. Her main focus involves isolating DNA/ PCR genotyping the transgenic mouse lines at the Institute. She has a background in Environmental Science from Gonzaga University with minors in Political Science, and Philosophy. She is joining the Allen Institute from The Institute for Systems Biology, where she spent her first postgraduate year researching ocean acidification and the diatom species known as Thalassiosira pseudonana (Thaps). During her time at The Institute for Systems Biology, she succeeded in isolating a gene in Thaps that is greatly over-expressed in aquatic high carbon conditions, which can be used as a biomarker.
