Eitan S. Kaplan, Ph.D.
Scientific Project and Alliance Manager
Eitan S. Kaplan joined the Allen Institute in 2020 and serves as the Scientific Project and Alliance Manager for the multi-site Human Alzheimer’s Disease Collaborative Research Center. The Human AD Center aims to build high-resolution maps of Alzheimer’s patients’ brains and thereby generate a detailed understanding of the core molecular and cellular phenotype of Alzheimer’s disease at the level of cell types and molecular pathways. The center seeks to pinpoint how and where the progressive disorder starts, and ultimately, to find new targets for therapy. Eitan previously worked at Seattle Children's Research Institute as a Scientific Project Manager in Business Operations, and as a neuroscience researcher in the Center for Integrative Brain Research studying gene-environment interaction in neurodevelopmental disorders. Eitan earned his doctorate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology investigating the mechanisms underlying experience-dependent synaptic plasticity in the cerebral cortex. Eitan completed his bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior at the University of California, Davis.
