David Sullivan, P.E.

Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering

David Sullivan currently manages the Hardware Engineering team within the Manufacturing and Process Engineering group. They support all areas of research at the Institute with mechanical engineering design and test, system evaluation and optimization, and support implementation of solutions with growing manufacturing capability.

Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Sullivan spent the bulk of his career in the Aerospace & Defense sectors, honing engineering and design skills where the cost of failure may be someone’s life. From very large machine design to human machine interface devices to precision control of aero surfaces at supersonic speeds, his experience has afforded him the opportunity to see many products through the full product lifecycle and illuminated the need for rigorous project management, engineering and testing. His experience brings a broad and diverse solution set to the Institute.

Sullivan obtained his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University with an emphasis in machine design. He subsequently achieved Professional Engineer licensure in the state of Washington.
