Dan Kapner, Ph.D.

Software Engineer III

Dan works on algorithmic and data problems within the Allen Institute’s electron and optical microscopy data modalities. He was a Kavli Fellow at the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics at the University of Chicago, where he was part of a team developing a microwave polarimeter to study the cosmic microwave background radiation. Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Dan worked in product research and development for a subsidiary of the precision measurement company Mitutoyo. Dan received a B.A. in physics from Cornell University. He received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Washington as an experimentalist searching for extra spatial dimensions.
