Bio:

Princess Ayers-Stewart is a dynamic thought leader devoted to ending discrimination and promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion. A lawyer by training, Princess has spent her career working toward spaces that are inclusive of ideas and experiences from people of diverse ethnic and racial identities.

Princess joined as the Allen Institutes first-ever Chief Diversity and Belonging Officer in July 2022 where she is responsible for strategic integration of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging into the culture and operations of the Institute. In previous roles Princess has served as Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion for REI, Chief of Workforce Diversity and Inclusion for Seattle Children’s Hospital, and Director of Global Diversity for Starbucks. She has close to twenty years of EEO compliance, diversity and inclusion, project management and strategic planning experience in legal and corporate environments.

Princess has formal education in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, a Juris Doctor from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, and earned a Master of Laws degree in employee benefits from The John Marshall Law School. She recently served on the Seattle-King County Workforce Development Council where she chaired the Youth Committee and served as Vice-President. She also served on the Seattle Chamber of Commerce Board and Executive Committee.
