Priya Ravisankar

Research Associate III

Bio:

Padmapriyadarshini (Priya) Ravisankar is a Research Associate III at the Allen Institute for Immunology, where she primarily supports the autoimmunity program. Her work focuses on investigating the molecular mechanisms that define the pre-clinical state of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) to develop therapeutic interventions that prevent disease progression. Before joining the institute, Priya was a Research Assistant in Dr. Joshua Waxman’s lab at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She contributed to several research projects aimed at understanding cardiac regeneration using the zebrafish as a model system.

Priya holds an M.S. in Zoology from Miami University, where she worked with Dr. Yoshinori Tomoyasu on her research thesis. Her graduate research utilized the insect pest Tribolium to study the evolutionary origin of insect wing development.
