This workshop will introduce undergraduate neuroscience educators to working with Allen Institute open datasets using Python. Participants will learn the basics of Python coding, best practices in coding pedagogy, and how to incorporate Allen Institute’s big data into their courses. No prior coding experience is required.
The workshop is intended for undergraduate neuroscience educators who hope to integrate coding into a course during the 26-27 academic year but would benefit from developing more comfort with Python programming.

Participants will:
Participants will attend a 4-day in-person workshop (July 27-30, 2026) at the Allen Institute in Seattle, WA. Travel and accommodations will be covered up to $1250. If your travel and accommodations costs more than our allotted amount, we will review on a case-by-case basis. Food and beverage will be provided during the hours of the workshop, and participants will receive a $250 stipend. More details will be shared with the accepted workshop attendees.
